Zoning Permit Required
A zoning permit is required for any accessory structure (shed) on your property. This is a zoning review, not a full building permit.
Maximum Size: 200 Square Feet
Your shed cannot exceed 200 sq ft of floor area. Our most popular sizes (8x10, 8x12, 10x12, 10x16) all fit within this limit. A 12x16 (192 sq ft) is the largest standard size that qualifies.
Maximum Height: 12 Feet
The shed cannot exceed 12 feet from ground to peak. Standard A-frame and barn-style sheds in our standard sizes meet this requirement.
Setback: 5 Feet from Property Lines
The shed must be at least 5 feet from all property lines — front, back, and sides. Make sure to measure from the actual property line, not the fence (they're often different).
